Wine production in Macedonia nowadays refers to production of all types of wines: dry and sweet, sparking and non-sparking wines, red, white and rose wines.

Internationally famous types of wines, such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Muscat Ottonel, Žilavka, Vranec are to be found in Macedonia as well as many others.

Characteristic of the wine production in Macedonia is that it is during the process of making wine that the extracts of fruit and fruit aromas originating from Macedonia are added, which gives a special flavor of the Macedonian wine.

From all the above-mentioned, it is obvious that in Macedonia already famous French vines are grown as well as the local kinds of vines such as: Vranec, Kratošija and Žilavka.
